Derek Essex

KBGA founder member Derek believes that his involvement with the group has had a lasting impact on his development as a painter.

 

"...it has undoubtedly fostered my enthusiasm, and over the years widened my knowledge and appreciation of the skills and techniques that artists use.  My early painting was in oils but now I find greater satisfaction working in line and wash creating pictures which, I hope, evoke pleasure and interest through the subject matter and use of light and shade."
