David's first love is watercolour. He enjoys its free flowing qualities which he describes as "a joy to use and battle with!".
With a professional career spanning almost forty years, David continues to paint and exhibit his work. His paintings are represented in many public collections, including the Royal Scottish Museum, the National Railway Museum, the National Motor Museum, British Rail and many others in the UK and the USA.
Two documentary films have been made about his work and eight books published, with a ninth due in 2009.
